2023: Slowing Down, Looking Wider

2023 felt calmer.

Trips became shorter. Expectations softened.

There were familiar forests — Bandipur, Kabini — and quieter wins:

  • Leopards with kills

  • Raptors in flight

  • Elephants in mist

Birding trips expanded my visual language. Time in hides and forests without big cats reminded me why I started photographing wildlife at all — not for drama, but for connection.

Family trips returned to the centre. Safaris were no longer just about frames, but shared silence, shared waiting, shared disappointment — and shared joy.

The year closed in Ranthambhore, with children in the jeep, fog in the morning, and a final safari that delivered magic just when we had given up hope — Noor and T-101 appearing together, ending the year with grace.
